In 2005, the Mayor of Ithaca proclaimed June 12th to be Ithaca Academy of Dance Day. This was to commemorate and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the IAD dance studio and its role in fostering dance talents and a love for dance in the Ithaca Community.
Earlier that year, the IAD studio director, Rosalie Amoroso was honored and celebrated by National Dance Week for her outstanding reputation and the accomplishments of the studio, its faculty and students.
IAD has indeed been a landmark in Ithaca, New York since 1935 when the studio was established as a family business by the parents of the IAD Executive Director, Rosalie (Bower) Amoroso.
The studio provides instruction in a wide range of dance classes specially tailored to the age and skills of each dancer. Faculty are highly experienced teachers and offer creative, engaging and challenging instruction designed to meet the needs of every member of the IAD studio from the little tots to the members of IAD’s accomplished award winning competition team.
